Priority Response
Training for police officers

Program Overview:

"Priority Response" is a comprehensive training program dedicated to enhancing the physical fitness and overall well-being of police officers. This full-day virtual training program recognizes the essential role that physical health plays in equipping officers to handle the demands of their jobs while also positively influencing mental acuity and resilience. Just as officers respond urgently to emergencies, they must apply that same level of urgency to their physical fitness and mental wellness.

The program also underscores the significant risks agencies face when officers struggle with physical health issues, which can impact decision-making and overall job performance. Poor physical health can escalate stress and lead to issues such as alcohol misuse, ultimately harming both the officer's personal life and the department's integrity. This initiative aims to provide agencies with strategies to support officers in prioritizing their physical fitness, which is critical in protecting their mental health and sustaining community trust.

                                             Program Objectives:

1    Validate Officers' Struggles: Create a safe and supportive environment for officers to share the unique challenges they face, including the pressures of their roles that can affect both their physical and mental health.
2    Highlight the Importance of Physical Fitness: Provide evidence and statistics illustrating the vital link between physical health and mental wellness, particularly in law enforcement, emphasizing how fitness can mitigate stress and improve cognitive functioning.
3    Address Underlying Fitness Issues: Discuss the root causes of inadequate physical fitness in the profession, emphasizing the impact of stress and the need for proactive wellness solutions. Agencies must understand these issues and take action to foster a culture of health and accountability.
4    Call to Action for Comprehensive Health Support: Encourage participants to consider ongoing physical fitness and mental wellness initiatives, emphasizing the importance of personal and departmental investment in officers' health.
